FG opens online portal for Nigerians to access N75billion survival fund
As the portal for the registration of prospective beneficiaries for the survival fund opens on Monday, September 21, the federal government has released the schedule for categories of businesses.
A statement issued in Abuja on Sunday, September 20 by the Project Delivery Office stated that the portal which opens at 10 pm, will have educational institutions as the first category of beneficiaries to register.
The Survival Fund initiative is one of the ways in which the Buhari’s administration is helping Nigerians post COVID-19.
The statement noted:
“Nigerians interested in the Payroll Support scheme are to note that the site for registration will be open from 10 pm Monday, September 21, 2020.
“In order to ensure a seamless registration process, the Project Delivery Office (PDO) has designed a registration schedule.
“Registration for Payroll Support will start with educational institutions on Monday and will be followed with businesses in the hospitality industry on Friday, September 25 beginning from 12 A.M.
“The portal will also be open to other categories of small businesses from 12 A.M., on Monday, September 28, 2020.”
The office therefore advised those interested in benefiting from the fund to take note of the schedule and also log on to www.survivalfund.ng to register for the payroll support initiative.
The federal government had on Thursday, September 10 flagged-off two schemes to cushion the effects of COVID-19 and save over 100,000 small businesses in the country.
Minister of state, industry, trade and investment Ambassador Mariam Katagum, flagged-off the schemes after briefing journalists in Abuja. According to her, over 1.7 million Nigerians will be positively impacted by the schemes.

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have arrested singers Zinoleesky and Mohbad after a midnight raid on their residence in Lagos.
NDLEA Spokesman, Femi Babafemi, confirms the arrest saying Cannabis and Molly were recovered by the operatives.
“Our men raided an area in Idado estate where Bịara Market boys stay. Some quantities of Cannabis sativa and Molly were recovered from their apartment and car,” he told TheCable Lifestyle.
“Six persons were arrested in all. Two females and four males.”
According to eyewitness, the NDLEA officials came without a search warrant and manhandled everyone, especially the ladies who were with them.
This is coming weeks after the Agency arrested fast-rising skit maker, De General, after a raid on his residence in Lagos. De General was immediately charged to court where he was convicted of trafficking tramadol and Cannabis sativa.
The skit maker was, however, pardoned by the court on the grounds that the quantity of the drugs found on him was too small to earn him a sentence.

South African Rapper, Riky Rick Takes His Own Life After Battling Depression
South African rapper, Rikhado Muziwendlovu popularly known as Riky Rick was found dead a few hours after a suicidal tweet. “I’ll return a stronger man. This land is still my home”, his post on Twitter read.
According to Police report, the rapper allegedly hung himself with a rope at his estate home in North Johannesburg, South Africa.
Riky Rick was found by his management team at about 8.30 am on Wednesday morning. They rushed him to a nearby hospital as he was still alive, unfortunately, he died when they were en route to the hospital.
Fans and friends of the late Riky Rick took to Twitter to reveal he has been battling depression for some time and his last Twitter post is an indication that his depression was severe.

The superstar took to his twitter page to reveal an emotional letter he had written to his late mother which he stumbled upon alongside a throwback picture of him and his late mum, the post have caused alot of emotional reactions from fans on social media.
Davido expresses his love for his late mother in the note and how much he misses her hugs, kisses and smile.
The letter reads: “How much I love you and how much love you gave to me. Despite my stubbornness, you are there to correct me. I miss your warm hugs, lovely kisses and lovely smile. You are a rare mother. You are one in a million. You will always be on my mind. Rest in peace mom.”
